The brief
Replace a tired back room and small garden door with a proper family kitchen that opens onto the courtyard.
What we built
We stripped the room back to brick and joists, formed a wide new opening for slim steel-framed doors, and fitted out the kitchen with an island, herringbone floor and slatted timber screen to the stairs.
